INCREASING PARTICIPATION AND ENJOYMENT IN A MORE DIVERSE RANGE OF SPORTS
I love the Olympics, both Winter and Summer because of the inclusivity and diversity values it promotes. It’s so refreshing to be motivated by a more diverse range of sports and I strongly believe that introducing more of these “unusual” sports could lead to adults enjoying a more active, healthier and happier lifestyle through play and community connections.
Access to these sports may be a little overwhelming and daunting for some and therefore be quite off putting. Wouldn’t it be great if you could sign up to a pass (like you do for the gym or a leisure centre) and just go and try some sports out without any commitment, without needing to buy lots of equipment and by learning with other beginners too? With Sporties, you can choose your style and length of pass, track and achieve challenges and connect with like-minded individuals.
A recent Sport England report from mid November 2021 to mid November 2022, suggests that:
“Inactivity levels are still higher than before the pandemic, women’s activity levels have recovered slower than men’s and the long-term decline in young people’s participation in sport and physical activity continues, despite a recovery in this period. We can also see the gap between most and least affluent continuing to grow and significant inequalities between the physical activity levels of some minority ethnic groups have widened.” Active Lives Adult Survey 2021-2022 Report.

IPhone 14 Pro
For this project, I decided to lay the foundations for designing for iOS, specifically the most up to date IPhone 14 Pro. I set-up my design system to ensure the correct use of fonts (SF Pro), iOS specific patterns and sizes.
Welcome to Sporties
1. PERSONALISED FOR YOU
I wanted to visualise my thoughts to test with potential users and sporting bodies. I opted for high fidelity, mainly because it flowed super easy and was fun to do as my side project.
Personalised home screen
2. KEY PAGES
A mock-up of the loading, onboarding and analytics pages. This helped me to quickly visualise my thoughts and part of a flow.
Desktop landing page
I decided to mock-up a starter web promotion landing page to get a feel for how to market the concept. I plan to try this out in Webflow to test a low code method, using my Figma files to export.
1. HOW IT COULD LOOK
Experimenting with language and design
A sassy yet go getty cheeky feel.
A dashboard for analytics and customer information. Designed very quickly using Figma’s auto layout.
